How I can help you

Over the years, as an osteopath, I’ve seen how often ongoing physical pain and other health problems stem from a significant loss, be it bereavement, redundancy, disablement or pet loss, or numerous others. The messy mix of feelings we experience following loss are the normal and natural reactions to any change. It’s grief, and if it goes unrecognised, or misdiagnosed, its impact grows over time as it gets buried deeper and deeper, getting in the way of any treatments we try. We learn to cope, but at a high cost.

Seeking a way to help my patients, I discovered the Grief Recovery Method and trained as a specialist in 2017. I soon discovered I needed help myself. The programme saved me from life-limiting unresolved grief following a series of sudden bereavements.

My energy and enthusiasm for life returned and I knew this was something that could be a life-changer for others like me. Heartbreak and loss are hard things live with. They colour every aspect of our lives. They steal our energy, our sleep, our ability to focus and concentrate, our capacity to think clearly and make sensible decisions. They disrupt our relationships with family, friends and work-mates and prevent us building new healthy relationships. And they have consequences for our physical and mental health.

You may be feeling stuck, numb, anxious, exhausted and alone, not knowing who to turn to or how to explain these feelings to those around you. You’ve tried keeping busy, told yourself to be strong, put on a brave face, but time passes and nothing works. I know the Grief Recovery Method can help and I love guiding people through the recovery process and seeing them finally able to let go of their burden of grief and pain and move forward with a free mind and peaceful heart.

Since extending my training in 2020 I’m able to deliver the Grief Recovery Method online which means I can help more people more directly. If what I’ve said rings a bell with you, please get in touch for a free, no-obligation chat to learn more and see how I can help you.

Over 40+ life losses can leave us feeling bereft

When we think of bereavement, we usually think of the death of a loved one. Most people looking for bereavement counselling or a grief coach only feel entitled to do so if someone close to them has died.

However there are over 40 different personal losses that can leave us feeling devastated, heartbroken, lost, hopeless and ultimately cause the same emotional and physical symptoms of grief.

The Grief Recovery Method is unique in that it is applicable to any and all kinds of loss. Each Certified Grief Recovery Specialist has been trained to guide grievers without judgement, criticism or analysis. We do not compare losses and we know that every griever is unique.

Not only can the action steps within the Grief Recovery Method be applied to any type of loss, they can be used again and again with any future losses that occur - once you have participated in a Programme, you will have all the tools you need to cope with loss later in life.

Testimonials  "When I first decided to do the Grief Recovery Method with Caro I was almost immobilised with anxiety. Sufferers will know how upsetting and debilitating this condition is but interestingly I wasn't aware that grief was inhibiting my recovery from anxiety. Caro suggested that the method would help me to navigate through past grief. These included the betrayal of a friend, the extreme bullying of my child and a rocky patch in my marriage.  "Caro showed me that not only did I need to forgive but also to take responsibility for my own role in past events. To be honest I thought that grief was just about the death of a loved one, but I learned that it is so much more. Caro sat with me when I was a sobbing mess as together we excavated grief and trauma from my past, she was there for my lightbulb moments with compassion and understanding.  "I realised the amazing benefits of the GRM when I contacted Caro a couple of weeks after I had completed the course. I wanted to tell her that my anxiety had gone from a 10 out of 10 to Zero. Months later, my anxiety is still at bay. I couldn't recommend Caro as a facilitator of this course highly enough.  Thank you Caro. - Katie, Donegal, 1:1 particpant.   "If you need help navigating your grief and loss using the grief recovery method, then I would highly recommend Caro. When I started the course with her, my anxiety was at an all time high. With sensitivity she supported me through some painful memories of loss. I can confidently say, this really works, my once crippling anxiety is now non existent and I am so glad I plucked up the courage to do it."  - Catherine, 1:1 participant.
